Job Summary and Description
Teaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full-time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Faculty members are responsible to a department/program chairperson; The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning. Faculty members will uphold the mission and values of the colleges’ and foster effective working relationships with students and colleagues.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Associate's degree or the equivalent education and experience.
- Three years of experience in Dental Assisting or a dental related field.
- Faculty must have a background in and current knowledge of dental assisting.
- Faculty must have knowledge in the following areas: Dental Anatomy, Dental Radiology as well as digital radiography, Dental Materials, Dental Office Management, Preventive Dentistry and /or Emergency Management.
License and Certifications
- Dental assistants and dental hygienists must have an RDA or RDH and are required to have their CDA and current CPR certifications.
- State licensed dentist are not required to have a CDA but must have an unincumbered license and CPR certification.
