Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Truck Driver to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods and materials to various locations across the country. You will be an integral part of our operations and play a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive their shipments on time and in perfect condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate company-owned trucks to transport goods and materials to designated locations
• Plan and organize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery
• Inspect vehicles before and after each trip, reporting any mechanical issues to the maintenance team
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time of departure, arrival, and any incidents that may occur
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the vehicle
• Communicate with dispatch and other team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise
• Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques
• Ensure all necessary paperwork, such as delivery receipts and invoices, are completed accurately and submitted on time
• Maintain a clean and organized truck, both inside and out
• Follow company policies and procedures at all times

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a truck driver
• Clean driving record with no traffic violations
• Knowledge of South African roads and traffic laws
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical ability to load and unload cargo and perform other tasks as required

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The working hours may vary and may include weekends and holidays, depending on the delivery schedule. The role may also require occasional overnight stays. As a Truck Driver, you will be exposed to various weather conditions and may be required to work in physically demanding environments.
