They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a technically proficient professional who can bridge the gap between design and execution , ensuring projects meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients daily to understand their project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Provide technical support while maintaining clear communication with the clients project manager and other stakeholders.
- Work across multiple engineering disciplines, coordinating efforts between clients, contractors, and internal teams to address design, engineering, and implementation challenges.
- Assist clients in developing project objectives, scopes of work, schedules, and bid packages , while supporting the purchasing team with technical expertise.
- Manage essential contract documents, including RFIs, addenda, change orders, and construction drawings .
- Identify and resolve design and engineering challenges , providing leadership during installation, commissioning, and operation phases.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, QA/QC policies, safety regulations, and performance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Safely travel to industrial and manufacturing facilities , performing hands-on work that may include climbing stairs, ladders, and navigating elevated platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical) from an ABET-accredited institution .
- 5-10 years of experience in engineering and design, with a background in project management.
- Ability to self-manage small projects , collaborate effectively within a team, or take the lead on larger initiatives.
- Strong client interaction and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in budgeting, cost management, and scheduling to meet project milestones.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and project management software .
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident .
- Prior experience in consulting and construction is a plus.
- Familiarity with capital project development and the FEL process is highly desirable.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Virginia , or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity, is a plus.
