Job description

  • Conduct in-depth research on the history of life at sea, including maritime traditions, customs, and practices
  • Collect and organize historical documents, photographs, and artifacts related to crew life at sea
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive archive of historical materials
  • Create engaging and informative presentations, exhibits, and educational programs for crew members and guests
  • Collaborate with other departments to incorporate historical elements into onboard activities and events
  • Respond to inquiries and provide information about the history of crew life at sea
  • Stay updated on current research and trends in maritime history and share this knowledge with the team
  • Assist with the preservation and restoration of historical artifacts and documents
  • Participate in the planning and execution of special projects and events related to crew life at sea history

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in History, Maritime Studies, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a maritime or museum setting
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present complex historical information in a clear and engaging manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Knowledge of preservation and conservation techniques for historical materials
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Passion for maritime history and a desire to share it with others
