Medical Intake Specialist (Remote)

Hours: Rotational shifts, including weekends and Sundays as required

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and professional Medical Intake Specialist to join our remote team. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive experience while gathering and verifying patient information accurately. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the flexibility to work rotational shifts, including Sundays.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle incoming patient calls professionally and efficiently.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
• Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and medical information.
• Enter and update patient records accurately within the system.
• Assist patients with inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
• Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Follow up on outstanding documentation and patient information as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Medical Intake, Patient Coordinator, Medical Receptionist, or similar healthcare support role.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong administrative and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Comfortable working with medical software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of calls.
• Reliable internet connection, backup power solution, and a dedicated home office environment.
• Must be flexible and available to work rotational shifts, including weekends and Sundays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with US healthcare providers or medical practices.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
• Experience in a remote healthcare support environment.
