Medical Intake Specialist (Remote)
Hours: Rotational shifts, including weekends and Sundays as required
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Medical Intake Specialist to join our remote team. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive experience while gathering and verifying patient information accurately. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the flexibility to work rotational shifts, including Sundays.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle incoming patient calls professionally and efficiently.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and medical information.
- Enter and update patient records accurately within the system.
- Assist patients with inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Follow up on outstanding documentation and patient information as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Medical Intake, Patient Coordinator, Medical Receptionist, or similar healthcare support role.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong administrative and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Comfortable working with medical software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of calls.
- Reliable internet connection, backup power solution, and a dedicated home office environment.
- Must be flexible and available to work rotational shifts, including weekends and Sundays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with US healthcare providers or medical practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
- Experience in a remote healthcare support environment.
