Location: Remote (South Africa-based)

Working Hours: 2:30 AM 10:30 AM SAST (Night Shift)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our remote team. The successful candidate will assist with legal drafting and support intake operations during the night shift. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, organized, and comfortable handling a few incoming calls while managing documentation and case preparation tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Draft basic legal documents, letters, and client correspondence

Perform intake duties by answering and documenting a limited number of inbound calls during the shift

Gather and input client information accurately into case management systems

Maintain and organize digital client records and files

Coordinate with attorneys and legal teams as needed

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with legal and data protection standards

Requirements

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a legal assistant, legal admin, or paralegal role

Strong drafting and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Comfortable handling intake calls and data entry with a high degree of accuracy

Tech-savvy experience with case management software is a plus

Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Must have own laptop, stable internet connection, and backup power

Availability to work night shifts (2:30 AM to 10:30 AM SAST)

Preferred

Experience supporting U.S.-based legal teams

Knowledge of legal terminology and documentation standards

Prior remote work experience
