INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER

PERMANENT FULL-TIME

ANNUAL SALARY: $77 500 TO $94 000

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyse existing fabrication processes (cutting, welding, assembly, machining) and identify inefficiencies
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce downtime
  • Conduct time and motion studies to optimise labour and machine utilisation
  • Design and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflow systems
  • Assist with production planning, scheduling, and capacity optimisation
  • Monitor KPIs such as output rates, rework, scrap, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with workshop supervisors and management to improve operational performance
  • Support cost analysis, budgeting, and quoting processes
  • Assist in the introduction of new equipment, tooling, and automation systems
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and workplace health & safety regulations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen)

Skills

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to analyse production data and identify improvement opportunities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production/ERP systems (M1)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Effective communication with both workshop personnel and management

Experience, Including Number of Years

  • Minimum 2–5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Demonstrated experience in:
  • Process improvement and optimisation
  • Production/workflow analysis
  • Working with fabrication teams (welders, machinists, boilermakers)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.

Annual Salary: $77 500 to $94 000
