Progeny HR Solutions LLC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at the Cardiovascular Operating Room in Salem, VA. As a full-time, permanent employee, you will play a vital role in assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and other supplies
• Monitor and maintain sterile field throughout surgery
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide necessary supplies and equipment
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization
• Assist with patient positioning and prepping for surgery
• Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
• Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift/move heavy equipment
• Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed
