Specialist - Database Administration

Our client, one of Sri Lanka's largest telecommunications service providers and the leading mobile network operator in the country, is seeking to hire a Specialist - Database Administration.

The Job

• Work directly with users of the cloud to support failures, performance issues, connectivity issues, etc.
• Improve team efficiency and performance by using scripts or tools to automate processes cautiously and save manual work.
• Collaborate with Security Operations and other Information Security teams to manage public cloud tools and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems impacting critical security systems and implement automation to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain an accurate understanding of the existing public cloud infrastructure to support scaling against various project requirements.
• Manage and support public cloud production, testing, and development environments.
• Contribute to the company's growth into public cloud services.
• Maintain processes, tools, and documentation related to operational environments.
• Implement and support cloud infrastructure.
• Assist in automating systems or applications to streamline administration.
• Provide updates to relevant stakeholders on areas of responsibility and emerging technologies.
• Provide technical expertise and advice on the development and execution of in-house applications subject to cloud readiness.
• Collaborate with developers, management, and vendors to ensure the secure deployment of applications that align with business objectives.

The Person

• Possess a degree or a master's in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience handling a similar scope in a critical and dynamic work environment.
• Related industry certifications are preferred.
