Role Overview
Lead the medical direction of a well-established small animal practice while maintaining an active clinical role. This position combines leadership, mentorship, and patient care, with the opportunity to guide clinical standards, support team development, and drive practice growth.
Practice Highlights
- Established small animal practice with a loyal client base
- Team of 3 veterinarians supported by experienced technicians and staff
- Approximately 3:1 support staff-to-doctor ratio
- Treats primarily dogs and cats, with some pocket pets and exotics
- Services include wellness care, preventive medicine, advanced diagnostics, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry
- Emphasis on low-stress patient handling and high-quality care
Facilities & Technology
- In-house laboratory and pharmacy
- Digital radiography
- Ultrasound
- Video endoscopy and otoscopy
- Advanced diagnostic imaging equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical leadership while maintaining an active clinical caseload
- Mentor veterinarians and clinical staff
- Establish and maintain medical protocols and standards of care
- Partner with practice leadership on operational growth and strategic initiatives
- Foster a collaborative, supportive team culture
- Promote excellent patient care and client service
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Active veterinary license or eligibility for licensure
- Minimum 3 years of small animal clinical experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Commitment to high-quality medicine and professional development
