About Your Company

Our partner is a foreign-owned entity with a unique foundation of strategic board members which allows them to drive investment opportunities between China and global markets through their QDLP / QFLP licenses.

We are looking for a General Manager to lead their operation in Hong Kong / Shenzhen, working closely with their mainland headquarters. This role will be a critical strategic hire in driving fund growth and managing cross border investments across the Asia-Pacific region.

A strong understanding of the regulatory and business landscape in mainland China is essential.

About your role

  • Leadership & Strategy •

Oversee strategic planning, investment execution, and operational management, focusing on QDLP/QFLP fund structures.

Drive AUM growth via a 5-year roadmap.

  • Fund Management Expertise •

Lead the full lifecycle of QDLP/QFLP funds, including quota applications, structure design, and compliance.

Manage cross-border fundraising (targeting institutional LPs, sovereign funds, HNWIs) and investor relations.

  • Regulatory & Compliance •

Ensure adherence to AMAC (China) and international fund governance standards.

Optimize QDLP/QFLP quotas through regulatory engagement (e.g., expanding QDLP quota from $60M to $200M).

  • Market Expansion •

Establish the firm as a leader in China’s private equity market and expand into global hubs (Dubai, Singapore, U.S.).

Develop partnerships with NZ/AU fund managers for global business growth.

  • Investment Focus •

Build a diversified portfolio in tech, renewable energy, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Execute cross-border PE transactions with a high success rate.

  • Team & Culture •

Recruit and mentor a high-performing team, fostering cross-border collaboration between China and NZ.

Promote an international investment culture and knowledge sharing.

  • Operational Excellence •

Streamline workflows between domestic/overseas teams and improve fund governance/cost efficiency.

Deliver at least 1 fund product within 3 months of joining.

What you will need to succeed

10+ years in PE fund management (QDLP/QFLP experience required).

Track record of managing $500M+ AUM and bilingual (Chinese/English) proficiency.

Preferred: MBA/PhD/CFA, AMAC/SFC licenses, and deep China market knowledge.

Candidates from Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hainan are welcomed
