Job Overview

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable General Worker to join our team in Durban, South Africa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to waste management, including waste collection, sorting, and disposal. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with waste collection and disposal in designated areas
• Sort and separate recyclable materials from non-recyclable waste
• Operate and maintain waste collection equipment, such as trucks and bins
• Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor
• Assist with general maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed
• Follow instructions and complete tasks assigned by the supervisor in a timely manner
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in waste management or a similar field is preferred
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed
• Valid driver's license is a plus
