Job description
Creighton Manning, a GAI Company, is seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to join our team.
About This Position
We are currently seeking a qualified AutoCAD Drafter/Technician to complement our CAD services team. As a CAD Group member, you will support a multidiscipline engineering and surveying team and work directly with staff to develop plans, presentation, figures, survey mapping, and proposal graphics, with potential opportunities to assist in field work.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Autodesk Civil 3d user who is capable of learning Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads, as a unique opportunity to become a dual user with training.
Essential Functions
- Primary Function is to work directly with Engineering Staff to support Cadd needs for all projects for the following departments; Highway, Structures, Traffic, Civil (AutoCAD), Survey, and Transit.
- Perform advanced Cadd tasks utilizing AutoCAD and MicroStation with some Supervision.
- Prepare Contract plans from scratch with mark-ups provided by an Engineer with some direction
- Observe all Cadd standards, (typically NYSDOT) and or CME in-house Civil Cadd standards.
- Perform Cadd edits with Redlines provided by Engineer.
- Create Visual graphics and presentation visualizations poster for projects and marketing
- Figure creation for reports, concepts, project location, and traffic figures utilizing Cadd
- Utilize Inroads to Create profiles, Plan creation tool, cross sections and drafting notes.
- Ability to extract out details and sections from 3d models for plan creation linked to model
- Responsible for basic QA/QC tasks and review of all Cadd work and review other staff Cadd work.
- May be required to assist other groups with field work such as documenting existing conditions, traffic counts and field survey
Minimum Years of Experience
8+ Years of Experience
Education
Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited technical school and/or CADD Certificate from an accredited program or equivalent experience
Technical Responsibilities
Able to complete complex analyses and presentations. Reviews finished products for compliance with company standards and procedures. Assists with CAD checks and internal reviews. Assists with written procedures and training of staff for procedural changes
Management Responsibility
Provides Significant oversight and mentoring to lower-level CAD Operators.
Given general instructions and works independently with minimal supervision. Receives general review of project work
Communication Skills
Possess excellent communication skills. Facilitates interaction between staff; able to effectively coach and mentor lower-level CAD Staff
Pay
$38.00-$44.00/hour
Pay is based on applicant's ability/experience and will be rated accordingly.
