Job description

So, what are the main responsibilities of a UI/UX Designer in Netcompany?

As a UI/UX Designer you will:

  • Translate business and user requirements into intuitive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing UI solutions that align with user needs and project goals.
  • Analyse user journeys using UX (User Experience) methods (heuristic review, task analysis, analytics review). You will also advise cross-functional teams throughout discovery, prototyping, usability testing, and ensure UI consistency to the design system.
  • Prototype low- and high-fidelity UI with wireframes, mock-ups, and storyboards to validate and iterate toward an intuitive user experience.
  • Design and develop responsive UI solutions for various digital products (e.g., web, mobile, tablets) by defining information architecture, interaction workflows, navigation patterns, and applying principles of typography, color, and imagery.
  • Create and maintain a design system (style guide, tokens, components, templates) with versioned libraries, usage guidelines, and governance. You will also create graphical elements including illustrations, visuals, infographics, data visualisations, etc.
  • Plan and run user-centred evaluations (usability tests, heuristic reviews, A/B tests), report issues with severity, evidence, and recommendations.
  • Contribute to UI acceptance criteria and test scenarios and support cross-browser/device and visual regression testing and analyse results with developers.
  • Collaborate closely with UX Analyst and Accessibility Experts to ensure designs are user validated and compliancy with regulations and policies.
  • Prepare developer handoff deliverables and collaborate via handoff tools to ensure accurate implementation. You will also advocate for and implement design system components and patterns consistently across all digital products to ensure a cohesive user experience.

What would make you a fit for the role:

  • University degree in Design, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Full professional proficiency in English (minimum C1 level or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in UI and UX Design.
  • Knowledge of core web technologies (HTML5, CSS3), JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) with an understanding of W3C standards, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO principles.
  • Proficiency in UX/UI design and prototyping tools, including Figma, Balsamiq, InVision, UxPin, Framer, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and similar solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of user-centred design principles, UX best practices, usability, accessibility, responsive design, web ergonomics, visual and typographic design, as well as user research and testing methodologies (e.g. A/B testing, remote usability testing, eye tracking).
  • Experience with collaborative and design system tools, including Confluence or similar platforms, design systems, component libraries, and cross-browser compatibility testing.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, with a solid understanding of security, data protection principles, and the delivery of user-focused digital solutions throughout the full software development lifecycle.

What could be an asset for the role:

  • A certification such as UXQB Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience - Foundation (CPUX-F), Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g) UX Certification, or Google UX Design Certificate.

If you are looking forward to be part of a diverse environment, and have the opportunity to work alongside well-experienced professionals, on challenging, large-scale projects that directly impact millions of citizens around the globe, then this is the place to be!

By joining Netcompany Belgium, you will be an integral part of a distinguished team of 600+ tech enthusiasts working for international projects, primarily within the European Institutions market, with a unique opportunity to shape the future of digital services in an environment that values ideas and fosters growth.
