General Ledger Accountant

About the Role
For our client based in Warsaw, we are currently looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join the Accounting team. The role focuses on end-to-end general ledger activities ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy of monthly and annual financial close process, including preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring all accounts are accurate, complete, and properly reconciled.
- Prepare and record accounting journals such as accruals, prepayments, and account reclassifications in line with accounting standards.
- Support the processing, reconciliation, and settlement of intercompany transactions across group entities.
- Manage the travel & expense process by handling queries, reviewing submitted claims, and approving expenses in the system.
- Prepare financial reports and provide ad hoc analysis to the Financial Controller and other internal stakeholders as requested.
- Collaborate with the Tax Function by assisting with VAT-related matters and responding to tax-related inquiries.
- Contribute to internal and external audit activities by gathering supporting documentation and addressing auditor requests in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within a Shared Service Centre environment.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reconciliations and analysis.
- Full professional proficiency in English Language.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset and clear, professional communication skills in an international working environment.
