COMPANY OVERVIEW

STACK Infrastructure builds, owns, and operates hyperscale and colocation data centers that power the world’s most ambitious technology companies. With a rapidly expanding footprint across APAC, STACK combines deep development expertise, flexible capital, and operational discipline to deliver critical digital infrastructure at scale.

Our clients include the largest hyperscale cloud platforms. We are building a regional platform defined by speed of delivery, power reliability, and long-term partnership — and we are assembling the team to lead that effort.

Summary/Objective

The General Maintenance Technician supports the Critical Operations team by assisting with minor maintenance tasks, contractor coordination, work-pack preparation, in-field verification, logistics, and safety oversight. This Monday–Friday role provides practical support to the shift teams and Supervisors to help maintain a safe, compliant and efficient operating environment aligned to STACK’s 100% uptime commitment. The position is designed for individuals early in their technical career, with opportunities to learn, grow and progress into higher technical roles within STACK. A concierge-level customer service approach is expected in all interactions.

Essential Functions – Critical Operations

  • Support the safe, efficient operation of the data centre by assisting the Critical Operations Supervisors and shift teams with daily operational tasks.
  • Perform minor non-licenced maintenance tasks appropriate to trade background (e.g., basic carpentry, general repairs, fixtures, fittings, minor patching and adjustments).
  • Provide in-field verification of MOPs and supervise low-risk project activities, allowing shift staff to focus on operational and switching requirements.
  • As a key on‑site presence, you help prevent incidents before they occur. You will be trained, empowered and supported to speak up and stop work if something does not look right or does not follow the approved scope.
  • Carry out escorting, logistics support and low-level coordination activities for contractors, vendors and project teams.
  • Review upcoming work packs and assist in producing paper-based work packs for upcoming shifts.
  • Conduct in-field safety audits for contractors to ensure compliance with site procedures and SWMS.
  • Carry out basic site checks and inspections including access paths, housekeeping, signage, consumables and general conditions.
  • Support the shift team during emergency situations including in‑field checks, response actions, cordon control and evacuation support.
  • Assist with staging equipment, materials and consumables for planned works, shutdowns or maintenance activities.
  • Maintain storerooms, tools, materials and work environments in a clean, organised and safe condition.
  • Identify and report potential safety issues, risks, hazards or improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain clear, accurate notes and updates in logs, documentation and handovers as directed.
  • Demonstrate disciplined adherence to procedures, safety rules and operational boundaries.
  • Provide a professional, customer-focused presence when interacting with visitors, contractors or customers.
  • This role does not perform licenced electrical, mechanical or refrigeration work. All trade-restricted activities are undertaken by appropriately qualified contractors or licenced personnel. The role focuses on operational system management, first-response troubleshooting, vendor coordination and component-level maintenance within authorised limits.

Competencies

  • Strong safety mindset, operational discipline and attention to detail
  • Basic troubleshooting capability and willingness to learn technical systems
  • Ability to follow procedures, work instructions and safety requirements
  • Familiarity with basic tools, maintenance tasks and general repair methods
  • Clear, confident communication and customer‑focused behaviour
  • Effective contractor coordination for low‑risk tasks
  • Reliable, organised and proactive in supporting daily operations
  • Team‑oriented with a growth mindset and willingness to develop
  • Calm and dependable when supporting emergency response activities
  • Continuous improvement mindset (housekeeping, processes, risk reduction)

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Trade qualification preferred (e.g., carpentry, general construction, maintenance), but not essential.
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, facilities or similar environments desirable.
  • Familiarity with SWMS, safe work practices and basic risk assessment.
  • Ability to read and follow simple work instructions, drawings and procedures (training provided).
  • Strong communication skills suitable for logs, notes and contractor interaction.

Work Environment/Conditions

  • Primarily a Monday–Friday role, with occasional support for site activities outside standard hours.
  • Work occurs across data halls, plant rooms, mechanical/electrical spaces and external plant areas; PPE required under site policy.
  • Physical tasks include walking, lifting, ladder use, inspections and emergency response participation.
  • Participation in emergency response activities and readiness exercises is required.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements

  • Legal entitlement to work in Australia.
  • Ability to satisfy pre-employment screening requirements (as applicable), including right-to-work checks, background checks and reference checks.
  • Ability to meet data centre security requirements including badging, access control and adherence to customer-mandated security protocols.
  • Security clearance is not required unless specified for a customer-specific facility.
