Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plant Operator to join our production team. The Plant Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of precast concrete production equipment, ensuring products are manufactured to company and industry quality standards in a safe and efficient manner. This position is ideal for candidates looking to grow within the concrete manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production equipment including mixers, casting beds, forms, and vibration equipment
  • Set up, strip, and clean concrete forms and molds according to production schedules
  • Accurately measure, mix, and pour concrete materials following established mix designs
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders
  • Perform quality control inspections on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Properly place reinforcing steel, embeds, and hardware into forms prior to casting
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and front-end loaders (training available)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
  • Accurately complete production logs, inspection records, and daily reports
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and standard operating procedures
  • Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors

Required

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to read a tape measure and basic math skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs regularly

Preferred

  • 1–3 years of experience in concrete, construction, or manufacturing
  • Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes
  • Basic blueprint or shop drawing reading ability
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Forklift certification

Physical Requirements

  • Standing/Walking Up to 8–10 hours per shift
  • Lifting Up to 50–75 lbs regularly
  • Bending/Stooping Frequent
  • Working Conditions Indoor/Outdoor, exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures
  • PPE Required, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, hearing protection
