Functional Safety Engineer
Job description
Role Overview
Responsible for steering the complete functional safety lifecycle for steering systems,
from planning and analyses to traceability, release evidence and audit-ready reporting.
- Structured ISO 26262 / ASIL-D mindset and strong safety argumentation
- Confident moderation of analyses, reviews and supplier alignment
- Ownership-driven documentation, issue evaluation and release support
Expertise
Experience in functional safety for steering system development
Plan, maintain and track safety activities and work products
Create item definitions, HARA, safety concepts and safety cases
Perform FMEDA, FTA, DFA, FMEA and software hazard analyses
Maintain requirements traceability across system, hardware and software
Prepare reviews, assessments and release recommendations
Evaluate change requests, deviations and problem reports
Coordinate suppliers, stakeholders and audit-ready documentation
Minimum 5 years of experience in Automotive Functional Safety.
Experience in steering systems or other safety-critical automotive systems.
Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 processes, work products, and compliance activities.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and international environment.
Languages
English: Professional working proficiency (mandatory)
German: Considered a strong asset / plus
