Document Controller - Development
Job description
Job Purpose Provide administrative and technical document control support to the Development Team by managing, tracking, distributing, and maintaining all project-related documentation in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and project requirements. Ensure that all design and technical documents are properly controlled, updated, and accessible to relevant stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Receive, register, log, and track all incoming and outgoing project documents. Ensure that the latest approved revisions of drawings and documents are available for use and that document records remain accurate and up to date. Manage and maintain design drawings, specifications, calculations, material submittals, technical reports, contracts, and project correspondence. Upload, organize, and maintain electronic documents within document management systems such as SharePoint or similar platforms. Distribute approved drawings, specifications, and technical documents to internal departments, consultants, contractors and subcontractors. Monitor document review and approval workflows and follow up on pending or overdue responses. Maintain document registers, revision histories, transmittal records, and distribution logs. Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, project managers, consultants, and contractors regarding document status and approvals. Ensure compliance with company document control procedures and project documentation requirements. Generate documents and provide status updates as required. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Document Management, Information Management, or a related field. Professional certification in Document Control or Records Management is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and document management systems. Experience Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Document Controller, preferably within construction, engineering, infrastructure, real estate, or project-based environments. Proven experience in managing technical documents, drawings, contracts, and project correspondence. Experience working with consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams. Familiarity with document management systems and document control workflows.
