Incubly
Design Engineer - Energy & Utilities
Job description
Hey! Nice to see you!
At Incubly, we believe that great people want to work with great people. We build teams and environments where talented engineers can grow, create meaningful solutions, and enjoy the journey together. Our mission is to support tech companies and scaleups in quickly and effectively growing their teams, while boosting product development, testing, and deployment.
We are now working with a leading company in critical infrastructure management to transform how underground utilities are protected and maintained. With their innovative software platform, they have been helping organisations prevent damage and improve safety during excavation projects. Through this partnership, we are driving the future of infrastructure safety—using advanced data analysis and technology to create smarter, safer, and more efficient communities.
Irth is hiring a Design Engineer to help create the future of our web and mobile app products. Our solutions are engineered to improve resilience and reduce risk in the sustainable delivery of utility, energy, telecommunication, and media services.
You'll join a small but mighty Experience Team, where design leadership is not just welcomed — it's expected. We're looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of design and engineering: equally comfortable in Figma and a code editor, and passionate about closing the gap between the two. Working remotely, you'll be guided by our Creative Director but have the autonomy to drive design quality and execution with minimal oversight.
This role blends hands-on UI engineering with interaction design. You'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment alongside product managers, developers, stakeholders, and customers — translating insights and business goals into intuitive, impactful user experiences.
Your daily responsibilities
- Design system ownership: Build, maintain, and evolve a component library and design token system that keeps UI consistent and development velocity high across products.
- High-fidelity prototyping: Create interactive, coded prototypes that go beyond what static tools can express, accurately demonstrating complex states, transitions, and micro-interactions.
- UI implementation: Translate designs into pixel-perfect, accessible front-end components using modern frameworks, working directly in the production codebase.
- Design-to-dev collaboration: Act as the glue between design and engineering — advocating for design quality in code reviews and engineering feasibility in design critiques.
- Interaction & motion design: Define and implement animations, transitions, and micro-interactions that make the product feel polished and intentional.
- Design tooling: Maintain well-structured Figma component libraries and documentation that keep the design system in sync with production.
- Stakeholder presentation: Clearly communicate design and implementation decisions to product managers, developers, and stakeholders.
We need you to have
- 2–5 years in a Design Engineer, UI Engineer, Design Technologist, or similar role, ideally in a SaaS or web/app-based environment.
- Strong front-end engineering skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a component-based framework such as React or something comparable.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto-layout, variables/tokens, and prototyping.
- Proven experience building or maintaining a design system or component library.
- Deep understanding of interaction design, visual design principles, and usability.
- Solid knowledge of web accessibility standards and how to implement them.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional team.
Our offer
In addition to great company and challenging projects, we can offer much more, i.e.
- A supportive community of Scrum Masters at Incubly
- Hybrid work model from our office at 24 Pi ł sudskiego Street, Łó d ź
- Remuneration: 1.000–1.300 PLN daily on a B2B contract, depending on your experience
