Job Description
- The Software QA Engineer will have a significant opportunity to work across a variety of technologies and functional areas with a strong focus on both test case creation and test automation.

As a Software QA Engineer, you will
- Review business requirements, use cases, user stories, and functional specifications, and provide feedback to clarify these documents, and then use these to plan and build a robust software QA solution.
- Create and execute software QA automation solutions.
- Support, maintain, and enhance all test case automation related activities during iterative development, system testing, regression testing, and post production testing.
- Instruct software developers on best practices so that testing automation goals can be achieved.
- Assist with manual testing; execute manual test cases and scripts for products under development using test management/tracking tools.
- Create and maintain test plans, cases, scenarios/scripts, in compliance with defined QA standards and methodologies.
- Establish and configure environments for executing test cases and scenarios.
- Own the acquisition, implementation, deployment, and administration of the QA process, tools, and supporting technologies.
- Work effectively with business leaders and within the technology team.
Qualifications for success
- This position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field, and 2+ years of experience doing the following to help build great software:
- Implementing software test automation using Selenium or similar software frameworks.
- Performing quality assurance for public-facing and internal websites and web-services.
- User interface testing across multiple browsers and devices including desktops, tablets and mobile.
- Testing SOAP and REST web services using SoapUI , C#, .NET APIs, or similar technologies.
- Performing application software testing in a financial services environment such as banking, lending, payment-processing, accounting, investing, or insurance.
- Constructing and verifying test data and databases using SQL.
- Assisting with test-driven software development and technical integration testing.
- Working with Agile Methodologies and highly frequent release cycles.
- Applying manual testing techniques and processes, including black box/white box.
- Using tools like Jira for defect reporting, tracking and test cases.
- Using written and verbal communication, problem solving, time management and interpersonal skills to be a leading member of a high-performing team.
- Leveraging Microsoft tools and techniques including Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook to efficiently perform the above listed activities.
The following skills are a plus, but are not required
- Knowledge and understanding of Salesforce.com.
- Software development in a Microsoft .NET environment using MVC frameworks.
- Experience with any of C++, Java, HTML, CSS, jQuery, AngularJS, JavaScript and/or T-SQL.
- Familiarity with MSTest and/or NUnit .
- Use of a source code version control system.
