Cirrus8 is our commercial property management and trust accounting platform, supporting critical workflows including trust accounting, lease management, budgeting and owner reporting.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead to own the technical direction of Cirrus8 and lead the growth and performance of our engineering team across Australia and the Philippines.

This is a genuine engineering leadership role combining people leadership, architectural ownership and hands-on technical contribution .

You’ll set the technical standard for the platform, drive our PHP modernisation roadmap and build an engineering culture where a distributed team operates as one. Working closely with Product, Design and senior leaders, you’ll balance commercial priorities with the long-term reliability, scalability and health of the platform.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead, coach and develop a distributed engineering team across Australia and the Philippines
Own one-on-ones, goal setting, performance conversations and development planning
Build a connected, collaborative and accountable engineering culture across locations
Own the technical architecture and long-term health of the Cirrus8 platform
Define and drive the modernisation of our mature PHP codebase towards modern, modular and strongly typed patterns
Set engineering standards across code review, automated testing, CI/CD and delivery practices
Prioritise technical debt, infrastructure, observability, security and deployment improvements alongside feature delivery
Safeguard the integrity of complex trust accounting and financial workflows
Remain meaningfully hands-on, contributing code, leading technical spikes and unblocking complex challenges
Partner with Product and Design to scope, shape and de-risk new initiatives
Drive predictable, high-quality engineering delivery and clearly communicate risks and technical trade-offs
Lead technical incident response and support continuous improvement through blameless post-incident reviews
Collaborate with our Principal Engineer on group-wide engineering standards and shared platform capabilities
Contribute an engineering perspective to Cirrus8's broader product and commercial strategy

What We’re Looking For

10+ years of software engineering experience, including experience in a senior technical or engineering leadership role
Demonstrated experience directly managing, coaching and developing engineers
Deep PHP expertise and experience with modern frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
Hands-on experience modernising mature or legacy codebases
Experience owning architecture for a production SaaS platform
Strong knowledge of database design, APIs, security and operational reliability
A track record of lifting engineering standards through code review, automated testing and CI/CD practices
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate technical complexity into commercial conversations
A genuine passion for helping engineers learn, grow and perform at their best
A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the ability to operate in a fast-moving product environment

Highly Regarded

Experience in property management, trust accounting, financial or compliance-sensitive software
Experience leading distributed or offshore engineering teams, particularly in the Philippines
Vue.js or modern frontend development experience
Knowledge of design systems and scalable product delivery practices
Experience with cloud infrastructure, observability and modern deployment tooling
