Job description

The Hesburgh Libraries’ Electronic Resources Associate works collaboratively to support the purchase and maintenance of critical and costly electronic resources that underpin the teaching and research mission of the University of Notre Dame. Duties include pre-order research, communication, order placement, licensing paperwork management, activation routines, and resolving access issues.  The Electronic Resources Associate serves as a point of contact for electronic resource orders with vendors, subject librarians, and department members, ensuring University standards for business and record keeping are maintained.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Electronic Resources Support: Supports the life-cycle of electronic resources through research, analysis, and record keeping. Gathers key information required for administrative decision-making, reviews acquisitions terms in license agreements, and establishes and maintains library records and related documentation. Supports patron access to content through the activation and management of resources in library systems including the LMS and library website.
  • Data Analysis: Collects data and conducts basic analysis to find gaps or overlap in library content, conveys current usage patterns, and monitors orders for consistency
  • Data Integrity: Develops and implements best practices for data integrity, workflows, and systems routines related to the life cycle management of electronic resource orders.

Education: Bachelor’s degree (4 years), preferably in a business, library, or related field

Experience: 1 to 2 years of library experience preferred

Skills: Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software

Compensation: Up to $57,500, commensurate with experience
