Formulation Technician

Reports To: Production Manager FLSA: Non-Exempt Department: Production Location: Arcadia, FL Pay Range: $16.00/hour

Position Summary

The Formulation Technician is responsible for accurately blending cannabis distillates, terpenes, and other components to produce high-quality cannabis products in accordance with Mint Cannabis’ standards for safety, precision, and consistency. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and collaboration with production and extraction teams to ensure each batch meets quality and compliance specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, mix, and blend cannabis distillates and terpenes according to established formulations and SOPs.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and mixing tools in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of raw materials and finished products for packaging and testing.
  • Follow safety, sanitation, and compliance procedures to ensure product integrity.
  • Conduct visual inspections and in-process quality checks to maintain consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with production leads and management to troubleshoot and optimize formulation processes.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and compliance in all formulation and storage areas.
  • Support inventory tracking of ingredients, materials, and finished batches.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in production, laboratory, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing (cannabis experience preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise measurements and written procedures.
  • Familiarity with basic lab or production equipment and safety protocols.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card in accordance with Florida state regulations.

Education and Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision measuring and mixing.
  • Comfortable working around strong odors and cannabis plant material.

Work Environment

  • Production laboratory setting with exposure to raw cannabis materials, strong odors, and chemical handling.
  • PPE required as outlined by company safety policies.
