Job description

NorthKey Community Care is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist – Mobile Crisis. This position will be full-time on-site, Monday-Friday 11:00 AM-7:30 PM. Flexible as needed. You MUST be INDEPENDENTLY licensed in KY.

  • Master’s Degree or above in clinical field of study related to behavioral health from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed independently in Kentucky
  • Relevant education, training, experience, knowledge, and expertise to meet the needs of clients through individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Ability to operate an Electronic Health Record and other technology as necessary.
  • This position requires travel and reliable transportation. JOB DUTIES
  • Implement and maintain the Behavioral Healthcare program's philosophy, principles, and procedures in all facets of performance related to assigned treatment program.
  • Provide services and conduct self in a manner consistent with the professional Code of Conduct of NorthKey Community Care.
  • Respond in person as part of a team to individuals in crisis in community-based settings, including homes, schools, hospitals and other locations.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to de-escalate crises and develop effective safety plans.
  • Assess and/or provide education to clients and their support systems regarding appropriate next steps for ongoing safety and treatment.
  • Complete clinical assessments to assess behavioral health symptoms, functionality, and current risk level.
  • Diagnose identified mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Recommend clinically appropriate level of care treatment recommendations based on behavioral health assessment and treatment plans and assist in obtaining necessary resources as indicated.
  • Collaborate with community providers, including law enforcement and hospital staff to establish appropriate community response to identified individuals.
  • Complete crisis evaluations, including involuntary evaluations (202As and/or Assisted Outpatient Treatment), school safety evaluations, Urgent Care assessments, or other crisis assessments.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation regarding assessment and referrals.
  • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure appropriate follow-up care is provided to the client and/or support system.
  • Meet all documentation requirements as defined by NorthKey policies.
  • Ensure continuous reimbursable sessions for assigned clients.
  • Fully participate in staff development opportunities offered to enhance professional growth, especially to maintain license, certification, or identified program performance skills.
  • Utilize most appropriate evidence-based practice(s) to address clients' needs.
  • Develop treatment plans for clients based upon client’s own words regarding areas of needs, their diagnoses and symptoms, utilizing discipline-informed theories and interventions.
  • Participate in planned supervision and case consultation conferences as necessary.
  • Come prepared to meetings and keep supervisor informed of completed tasks.
  • Assist in other crisis program functions as needed and other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere responsibly to all NorthKey policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to confidentiality in all matters pertaining to client information.
  • Maximize efficiency and effective use of time in maintaining accurate and punctual time reporting.
  • Attend internal meetings relating to responsibilities and duties.
  • Maintain a professional and business-like manner in dealing with all internal staff, Board members, state and governmental staff, sub-contractors and vendors of NorthKey.
  • Represent NorthKey in a professionally appropriate manner.
