Configuration Management Lead
TerraPower is looking for a Configuration Management Lead to support its Projects through design, construction, and operations. The Configuration Management Lead will report to the Vice President of Engineering, in the Project Engineering Organization. The Configuration Management Lead is responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, and implementing configuration items, controlling configuration baselines, and conducting configuration related audits. The Configuration Management Lead will also be responsible for developing and maintaining TerraPower’s Configuration Management processes and procedures, as well as mentoring and training the Project Teams on those processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the Configuration Management process, including establishing priorities and work assignments
- Tracking compliance to policies and procedures and resolving / escalating any compliance issues
- Facilitates Configuration Management audits
- Reviews Configuration Management issues, drives resolution, and implements any required changes to the process
- Facilitates communication and engages business and IT management to encourage configuration management efforts
- Engages with projects to ensure Configuration Management can deliver required Configuration Management System (CMS) functionality within project timeframes
- Works closely with the Digital Engineering team to ensure that the Digital Engineering platform supports the CMS.
- Reviews and approves all changes to the CMS infrastructure where applicable
- Reviews and approves significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed
- Mentors and trains the organization on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies, and procedures
- Supports Design reviews and Change Control Board Meetings, and enacts changes as directed
- Provides and approves all requirements, use cases, etc. in support of new or improving functionality of the CMS
- Create, establish, and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) supporting developmental and operational systems.
- Support efficient and effective service management processes by providing accurate and timely configuration information that aids decision-making (e.g., to authorize change and release and resolve incidents and problems faster).
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and at least 5 years of configuration management experience in a nuclear or other highly regulated industry, or Master's and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Process improvement experience. Ability to identify needed changes to processes and activities and help to implement continuous improvement solutions.
- Experience with engineering strategies for new technologies and infrastructure processes.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Understand basic concepts, and assist in documenting configuration management processes and procedures
- Ability to apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments
- Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
- Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable

- Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.

Salary Range: $117,922 - $176,883
Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
