The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport Division (NUWCDIVKPT) Detachment Pacific (Code 04/TDC) functions as NUWC’s forward presence in the Middle Pacific, Guam, and Western Pacific (WESTPAC) providing Detachment/Site Management in accordance with the Commanding Officer's (CO) letter of delegated authority to provide for program management, planning, policy, and execution of assigned programs and facility operations at the Detachment; monitor Safety and Occupational Health (SOH), physical and information security, personnel administration, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and professional development and morale, environmental compliance, appropriate interaction with all levels of Government and public affairs functions, site and area coordination for emergency preparedness, facilities management and space utilization, site material readiness, proper use of Government equipment and proper expenditure of funds, and adherence to good management practices and controls; manage the Detachment/On-Site Office (OSO); perform Navy programs duties under authority; manage military personnel allowance in accordance with Navy regulations, including Article 15 authority (non-judicial punishment); and serve as the Command's representative to the local installation CO or facility host in negotiating for utilities, security services, and facility maintenance. Divisions supported within this task are Hawaii Fleet Test and Operational Assessment Division (Code 24), Pearl Harbor Torpedo Division (Code 34), and Fleet Technical Support Division (Code 45).

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Supply Technician provides supply, logistics, inventory control, material documentation, and ERP support for Waterfront Operations for the Submarine Fleet Technical Support Division on the Hawaii Detachments Support Services contract . This includes custody control (including tools), receipt, issue, and shipment processing, market research for requisitions, inventory management of VLS Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE), VIRGINIA Class Weapon Cradles, torpedo handling equipment, and associated inert material. The role also supports onload/off-load operations, OM&S pre-expended bins, disposal actions, and logistics coordination for approximately 60 waterfront events annually. Working with moderate independence in a secure industrial waterfront environment, the technician ensures inventory accountability, chain-of-custody, accurate documentation, Navy ERP compliance, material readiness, technical publication accuracy, and operational support for classified and unclassified material. This position is located in Honolulu, HI.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinates supply requisitions and conducts market research using FEDMALL, MILSTRIP, commercial, and internet sources; provides pertinent information to Government representatives for entry into Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and the purchasing request tool.
  • Logs, receives, processes, and distributes parts, material, and equipment from shippers, naval supply system personnel, and other sources in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintains inventory control, stowage management, and custody accountability of submarine VLS PSE, VIRGINIA Class Weapon Cradles, handling equipment, and support gear at assigned JBPHH warehouses; executes custody transfers and issue control actions.
  • Inventories HAZMAT, other select consumables replenished through the Government supply system, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Supports Operational Material and Supplies (OM&S) by inventorying and maintaining Code 45 pre-expended bin items and updating the associated database.
  • Processes and completes documentation for all material received, transferred, stored, issued, and shipped, including movements to and from warehouses in support of VLS PSE and weapons handling operations.
  • Maintains applicable documentation, maintenance records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and references required to keep inventory and equipment in a ready-for-issue status; records, reports, and files pre-use and post-use inspections of submarine weapons handling equipment (WHE).
  • Supports annual asset audits and inventory counts for Division equipment, tools, and supplies; assists the NUWC Code 40/45 Asset Management team as required.
  • Assists with shipment preparation, receipt, and transportation coordination of VLS PSE, handling equipment, Ballast Cans, All Up Round Simulators (AURS), and other inert material using Government or Contractor vehicles and material handling equipment, as needed.
  • Provides technical input to Government personnel to support requisition of tools, consumables, repair parts, and materials necessary to maintain readiness of assigned VLS PSE and handling equipment.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • The ability to obtain and maintain an active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position
  • HS Diploma required.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of progressive experience in supply, logistics, inventory control, warehouse operations, or material management (DoD, Navy, industrial, or marine environment strongly preferred)
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited university in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with Navy ERP, FEDMALL, or equivalent DoD automated supply/inventory systems. Familiarity with VLS PSE, submarine weapons handling equipment, or waterfront operations support is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Some manual lifting up to 50 pounds may be required with this position.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as in performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area or on-board submarines and in weapon facilities.
  • The ability to operate heavy machinery and industrial tools with limited to no supervision. Examples may include but are not limited to: Electric/Diesel Forklift, CNC Milling Machine, Welding/Soldering, CAT III Overhead Crane, pallet jack, "Big Joe" stand-behind pallet lift mechanism, and more.
