Job Summary

Assist the Store Manager in the operation of the retail store while providing superior customer service, uses professional communication skills and handles the sale of retail purchases in the gift shop.

The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-RoundStart Date: July 2026 Pay: $16.50 per hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests
  • The Retail Sales Lead shall have the same duties and responsibilities as the Retail Sales Clerk.
  • Carry out the assignments given by the store manager and see that clerks carry out assigned duties.
  • Assist store management in the training of new sales clerks and keep store management informed of training progress.
  • Help with processing store paperwork and receive product as directed.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as directed, including assisting clerks with deposits and drops.
  • Maintain security at all times in the store.
  • As directed ensure housekeeping is being attended to in the store, as well as stocking, folding and display maintenance.
  • Emphasize customer service at all times to clerks.
  • Adhere to all prescribed Company, statutory/regulatory policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous Xanterra Tusayan, LLC retail experience.
  • Knowledge of Grand Canyon National Park and surrounding areas.
  • Previous retail and/or experience operating a POS/cash register, handling and/or counting cash accurately and maintaining proper sales records and reports.

Physical Requirements include

Constantly: stand and walk.

Frequently: lift/carry up to 20 lbs., and push/pull up to 25 lbs.

Occasionally: sit, reach outward & above shoulder, squat/kneel, bend, crawl, climb, lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and push pull up to 100 lbs.
