Land Technician
Job description
Overview
Responsible for assisting Land Asset Teams by researching leases and production agreements, determining ownership interests for new wells, maintaining accurate land records, and preparing reports used to manage lease obligations and contract compliance. They will also respond to inquiries from mineral owners and collaborate with departments such as legal, accounting, tax, production, and auditing
Responsibilities
- Assists Land Asset Teams in acquiring and maintaining oil & gas leases and Exploration & Production contracts focusing on research, creating various reports and analysis of data.
- Responds to mineral owner questions, issues or demands.
- Researches and analyzes leases and contracts, including ownership set up for new wells, determining working interest and net revenue interest in new wells or recompletions.
- Determines working interest ownership in federal units & participating area expansions.
- Develops and maintains network relationships with government agencies, lessors, mineral owners and partners.
- Develops and maintains network relationships with other groups within company, legal, accounting, tax, production and auditing.
- Creates various reports from Tobin Land Suite or parallel systems.
- Creates various reports from Business Objects pertaining to critical leases.
- Gathers and analyzes data for quarterly contract obligation reports and lease obligations reports.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ yrs. of Land Tech experience highly preferred. Requires basic knowledge of discipline.
- Uses established procedures to solve standard, straight-forward problems.
- Has the ability to perform routine assignments based on detailed instructions/past practices.
- Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
