Job description
Ardurra is seeking an experienced IT Network Administrator to join our internal IT team in Miami, FL .
Ardurra is a rapidly growing multidisciplinary civil engineering firm with more than 2,600 employees across 100+ offices nationwide. Our Corporate IT team supports the technology infrastructure that enables our engineers and business teams to deliver critical infrastructure projects throughout the United States.
Primary Function
This role is ideal for an experienced Network Administrator with a strong background in enterprise networking, infrastructure, and security. As a member of our Corporate IT team, you'll help maintain and enhance Ardurra's nationwide network environment, ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of enterprise systems supporting more than 100 office locations.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with experience managing multi-site network environments and a passion for delivering secure, reliable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and monitor LAN/WAN infrastructure, Fortinet firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless systems across all Ardurra offices, ensuring optimal performance and security. Assess and recommend improvements to firewall management.
- Install, configure, and support network equipment including servers, VPN configuration, and other hardware/software as needed.
- Administer and support the Zscaler platform, including implementing and maintaining Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions.
- Develop, configure, and manage VLANs across all locations to maintain network segmentation and security.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the CIO, articulating best practices, proposed solutions, and future network strategies.
- Collaborate with outsourced network service providers to align on architecture, configurations, and ongoing projects.
- Lead network design and architecture discussions, providing actionable recommendations to improve network efficiency and security.
- Perform hands-on firewall and switch configurations, system monitoring, and troubleshooting, ensuring minimal downtime and swift resolution.
- Collaborate with the IT security administrator to implement security best practices, patch management, and system updates.
- Provide support to all offices with network-related issues involving switches, firewalls, servers, access points, remote access, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and resource usage; generate and maintain performance reports.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning, data backup solutions, and business continuity efforts.
- Ensure centralized network management and uniform security policies across all locations.
- Maintain documentation related to network infrastructure, configurations, and IT procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades in alignment with company standards.
- Provide on-call support as needed for critical issues outside normal business hours.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5-10 years of network and/or systems administration experience in a multi-site enterprise environment.
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Office 365, and remote access tools (VPN, RDP).
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet networking equipment, firewalls, and cloud VoIP systems.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing Zscaler.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, troubleshooting tools, network design and device management.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, analytical and project management skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to various Ardurra offices on occasion (valid driver's license required).
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar
