We are searching for a Medical Assistant/Lab Assistant for our Comprehensive Primary Care office located at Tesson Ferry and 270!
The main responsibility of this position will be to perform lab draws on patients. However, the Medical Assistant/Lab Assistant will float to cover additional clinical responsibilities in the office.
Opportunity
- Full-time opening
- Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- No nights, weekends, or holidays
- Outpatient clinical practice
Day-to-Day
- Perform lab draws/phlebotomy
- Point of care testing
- Communicate test results to patients
- Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height
- Room patients
- Perform in-office procedures such as EKG's and ear cleanings
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (NextGen)
- Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team
Who we are seeking ( preferred )
- At least one year of Phlebotomy experience.
- Previous experience as an MA, Lab Assistant, CNA, PCT or Phlebotomist.
- The Medical Assistant/Lab Assistant is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
- Formal training which will probably be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant, CNA or Phlebotomy program (preferred, not required).
- CPR Certification.
- PC/Windows proficiency.
- Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
