Job description
Job Summary Provide accurate preparation and dispensing of medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Support pharmacy operations including inventory management, record keeping, and customer service. Number of Positions 2 Main Duties Receive, review and process prescriptions, verifying accuracy and completeness against patient records. Prepare, label and package medications, including counting, measuring and compounding non-sterile preparations as required. Operate pharmacy dispensing software and maintain accurate electronic and paper medication and patient records. Manage inventory by ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, rotating stock and checking expiry dates. Assist pharmacists with customer service tasks, triage prescription-related inquiries and communicate with prescribers and insurers as needed. Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, follow safety and aseptic procedures, and support documentation for regulatory compliance and audits. Requirements Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician diploma or certificate program. Registration or eligibility for registration with the provincial or territorial pharmacy regulatory authority. Minimum one year of pharmacy technician or related pharmacy experience preferred. Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing software and basic office computer applications. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and calculations. Ability to pass a criminal background check and meet workplace requirements for handling medications and controlled substances.
