POSITION/TITLE: ESTIMATOR - LEVEL 1 DEPARTMENT: TRIBAL ONE CONSTRUCTION, LLC MANAGER: CHIEF ESTIMATOR PAY GRADE: $55K-$70K (DOE)

The Estimator Level 1 is responsible for assisting and supporting accurate estimates and supporting the preconstruction team to win highly profitable and exciting projects that have pricing strategies developed to maximize our return, cash flow, and build a constructable budget for the project execution team to defend.

Primarily, Tribal One has a heavy focus on construction of federal projects such as buildings, building renovations with secure spaces, hangar buildings/aircraft support spaces, maintenance facilities, operations facilities, civil infrastructure, earthwork, dams, and geotechnical construction. The Estimator Level 1 is responsible for assisting in the coordination of bid documents, performing quantity take off, assist with subcontractor and supplies solicitation, assist with labor productions, assist with general conditions estimate and assist project start-up meetings for handover to operations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ability to review the specifications, scope of work, and drawings for his/her portion of a bid for completion, assist in submitting formal requests for information • Accurately and timely performs takeoffs and calculations and analyzes data • Attending site visits to gather detailed, relevant data on project site conditions and effectively incorporates this information during the bid process • Attends team kick off and schedule oversight meetings, proposal reviews, and/or additional reviews • Attend pre-bid meetings (when required), to evaluate existing conditions and identify and capture any scope that may not be included in the design documents • Assist in the set-up of the estimate, estimate schedule, and responsibility matrix • Basic understanding of the contract documents and the potential risks for a project • Assist in creating subcontractor scope documents for bidding • Ability to perform basic takeoffs using software or manual calculations • Participate in internal estimate review meetings • Assist in preparing subcontractor bid forms and subcontractor bid recording sheets for assigned trades, evaluate subcontractor bids for scope inclusion, and identification of scope gaps and overlaps, coordinate with other subcontractors to ensure complete scope is covered • Assist in developing plans to improve Estimating templates, workflows, and company standards • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications: • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance and a U.S. Gov't Common Access Card • US citizenship • Valid driver's license • Degree in engineering, Construction Management, or Engineering Technology. Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of education • Entry level to 2 years of relevant construction industry experience. Field experience is a plus. • Experience in plan reading for diverse scope of horizontal and vertical construction • Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills a must • Has a solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skills. • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.), MS Project Scheduling and Bluebeam • Experience with ProEst and/or HeavyBid estimating software is a plus • Basic knowledge of estimating, engineering, cost tracking systems and site surveying • Must pass required background checks and pre-employment drug screening and remain in compliance with drug and alcohol free workplace policies.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability: • Basic knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, trade practices. • Must have conceptual ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop an understanding of the owner/architect requirements • Ability to demonstrate imaginative, innovative and succinct approach to a project • Basic knowledge of the estimating documents and the ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of the documents. • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.). • Familiarity with construction project management software is a plus, but not required • Possess good organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills • Willingness to work evenings, nights, holidays and weekends as needed to support the project • Must be self-sufficient, motivated and show initiative
