Litehouse Foods is seeking a skilled Truck Shop Mechanic to join our team!
Location: Sandpoint, ID Shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 7am - 3:30pm Pay Range: $31.81/hr - $35.34/hr

As a Truck Shop Mechanic , you'll help keep our transportation fleet operating at its best by maintaining and repairing trucks, refrigerated trailers, food-grade tankers, and forklifts that keep our products moving.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair trucks, refrigerated trailers, food-grade tanker trailers, forklifts, and other transportation equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and advanced mechanical repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.
- Conduct diagnostic testing to identify worn or damaged components and recommend appropriate repairs, including warranty-related work.
- Coordinate repairs with outside service providers, monitor repair progress, and communicate updates with internal teams.
- Maintain parts inventory, create purchase and work orders, and ensure accurate maintenance records in compliance with DOT and FMCSA requirements.
- Promote a safe work environment while supporting fleet reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- Technical certificate in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Repair, Automotive Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks, trailers, forklifts, or commercial fleet equipment.
- Class A CDL , Air Brake Certification and Forklift Repair required upon hire .
- Tanker Endorsement and Forklift Certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, hydraulics, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery.
- Ability to read repair manuals, inspection reports, and technical documentation while maintaining accurate maintenance records.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
