Fitness Coach The Fit - Part time
JOB SUMMARY
As a Fitness Class Instructor at The Fit, you will play a crucial role in helping out members achieve their fitness goals while creating a motivating and enjoyable workout environment. You will lead various group fitness classes, provide guidance on exercise techniques, and inspire participants to reach their full potential. MAJOR DUTIES
Lead Group Fitness Classes: Potential to instruct a variety of fitness classes, such as yoga, spin, HIIT, Zumba, or strength training, while ensuring participants’ safety and engagement.
Develop and Deliver Workouts: Plan and execute well-structured and engaging workout routines that cater to participants’ fitness levels and goals.
Motivate and Encourage: Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere in classes, motivating participants to push their limits and achieve their fitness objectives.
Provide Proper Instruction: Offer clear and concise instructions on exercises, form, and technique to help participants perform movements correctly and prevent injuries.
Offer Modifications: Be attentive to participants individual needs and provide modifications or alternatives to accommodate various fitness levels and abilities.
Monitor Equipment and Safety: Ensure all fitness equipment is in good working order and report any issues promptly. Maintain a safe workout environment and enforce gym policies.
Engage with Members: Build relationships with gym members, addressing their questions, concerns, and providing fitness advice and support.
Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with the latest fitness trends, training techniques, and industry developments to enhance class offerings.
Participate in Team Meetings: Collaborate with other fitness instructors and gym staff to coordinate class schedules, promotions, and special events.
Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of the fundamentals of exercise science and fitness techniques. Understanding of nutrition and diet.

Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, vendors, and members of the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
Prolonged periods of intense physical exertion including running, lifting and stretching. Must be able to lift more than 75 pounds at times.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certified fitness instructor or personal trainer with relevant qualifications is preferred but not required. (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM)
CPR and First Aid certification.
Previous experience teaching group fitness classes is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about fitness.
Ability to motivate and inspire others.
Knowledge of proper exercise form and techniques.
Punctuality and reliability are essential.

Hourly Wage: $11.00 - $12.00
