About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Dispatch Forklift Operator to join our logistics team. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this role plays an important part in supporting dispatch operations, incoming fruit receivals during citrus season, safe forklift operation, quality checks and accurate site records.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with fruit receivals during citrus season, including unloading full bins of fruit and reloading empty bins onto trucks.
- Assist with unloading bulk citrus trailers for production and liaise with the Weighbridge Supervisor for incoming receivals.
- Safely load and unload trucks and containers in line with dispatch, warehouse and export requirements.
- Safely remove and insert pallets of stock into and out of block stacks, and operate hand-trolleys, pallet jacks and other handling equipment where a licence is not required.
- Pick, pack, label and prepare orders accurately and efficiently in line with customer specifications and company standards.
- Conduct final quality checks on outgoing orders and report any damaged or defective items for resolution.
- Ensure all shipping documentation is complete and accurate, complete daily forklift pre-start checklists, and maintain site records when required.
- Enter data accurately into relevant inventory, maintenance or procurement systems and assist with general administrative and ad-hoc duties.
- Maintain a clean and well-organised work environment and work closely with team members and other departments to resolve issues promptly.
- Participate in team meetings and training, and contribute ideas to improve dispatch and logistics processes.
- Follow all safety guidelines, warehouse best practice, company policies and procedures, including safe handling of hazardous materials where applicable.
What You’ll Bring
- Current forklift licence/certification with at least 1-2 years’ forklift operating experience.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or dispatch environment.
- Ability to safely load and unload trucks, move heavy packages and operate warehouse equipment.
- Basic proficiency using computers, inventory management systems and MS Office/Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- A safety-first mindset and willingness to comply with company policies, procedures and site requirements.
- Availability to work shift rotations and some weekends as required.
This role may involve exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
