Human Resource Generalist

About the Role We're seeking an experienced HR Generalist to run the day-to-day operations of our Human Resources department across our Harrisonburg and Roanoke locations. This role blends recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and program administration — ideal for a proactive HR professional who thrives on variety and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, interviewing, and hiring in partnership with department managers
- Lead new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
- Track and enforce compliance with mandatory training (safety, anti-harassment, licensure, certifications)
- Administer core HR programs: benefits, leave, performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee and supervisor HR inquiries, escalating complex matters as needed
- Stay current on federal, state, and local employment law and HR best practices
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1+ year of HR management experience preferred
- SHRM-CP certification a plus
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn HRIS/talent management systems
- Clean driving record; ability to travel up to 25% between office locations
