Program Support Teacher (Full-Time, On-Site)

About Us: The Goddard School of Monroe is a premier early childhood education center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children from infancy through Pre-K. Our team is passionate about helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally through hands-on learning experiences and meaningful relationships.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Program Support Teacher to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an energetic, flexible, and dependable individual who enjoys working with children of all ages and collaborating with teachers across multiple classrooms.

Position Summary: As a Program Support Teacher, you will play an essential role in supporting the daily operations of our school. You will work alongside lead teachers and assistant teachers in classrooms ranging from Infants through Pre-K, helping to create a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.

This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a passion for early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in implementing age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans.
  • Assist with classroom management and daily routines.
  • Provide care and supervision to children while ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
  • Support classroom transitions, outdoor play, meal times, and rest periods.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
  • Float between classrooms as needed to provide coverage and support.
  • Follow all Goddard School, state licensing, and health and safety regulations.
  • Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all children.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working with young children preferred.
  • Coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing classroom needs.
  • Positive, reliable, and professional attitude.
  • Must be able to meet all Connecticut state requirements for early childhood educators.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and sitting on the floor.
  • Ability to actively engage with children indoors and outdoors.
