Who We Are

Our strategy? To be anything but typical strategy consultants! Our unconventional nature is embedded deep in our DNA. Over sixty years ago, BCG shook up the world of strategy consulting. Now, it has grown to become one of the world leaders in the field. How do we manage to stay ahead of the pack? The answer is simple: by reinventing ourselves every day and providing a home with diverse career opportunities to the best talent and most creative minds all over the world. And by giving you the chance to make an impact in business and society. BCG stands for authenticity, exceptional work, and strong integrity. Once you’ve become part of the Group, we’ll help you find your path, unleash your potential, effect change, and advance the world. #jointhegroup

Our most vital resource is our people. That’s why Human Resources is one of our most vital teams: From recruiting to career development for BCGers, and from training and mobility support to staffing (assigning our consultants to client casework), the Human Resources Team plays a decisive role in making BCG not just a company but a Group in which each individual can be their best.

What You'll Do

We are looking for an experienced and strategically minded CE Staffing Director (all genders) to lead and shape our CE Staffing function within the Talent Management Unit (TMU). This role sits at the intersection between delivering on our people promise—providing rich development experiences to our consulting staff—and mobilizing effectively against our commercial agenda by ensuring our talent is deployed to deliver on our business priorities. A central goal is maximizing the utilization of our consulting staff across CE, balancing short- and long-term priorities and ensuring seamless staffing operations across the system. In this role, you’ll work in close partnership with the CE Staffing MDP, CE People Chair, and CE BD Chair on strategic priorities and complex escalations.

Critical responsibilities include the following

  • Ensuring seamless weekly staffing operations, including running a smooth and efficient process to identify resourcing requirements and deploy talent, taking into account both commercial needs and individual development needs and preferences, with a clear focus on maximizing utilization across our CE consulting staff
  • Providing leadership to the G&A Staffing team, including guiding and coaching team members in their day-to-day operations, supporting in problem-solving, and navigating (local and cross-CE) escalations, as required
  • Working closely with the CE Staffing MDP and the CE BD Chair, serving as a critical thought partner on investment decisions and trade-offs, grounded in a strong understanding of the broader business agenda, commercial priorities, and available capacity.
  • Shaping and driving strategic staffing projects across CE to address priorities that emerge, drawing on data and insights to identify challenges and work through solutions; current priorities include adopting team builder, harmonizing new hire staffing across CE, and supporting digital tool adoption, with the portfolio evolving with the needs of the business
  • Defining and maintaining CE-wide staffing standards, decision frameworks, and escalation paths, ensuring consistency of practice across G&A, SUI, and CEE. Proactively identifying evolving business needs, proposing solutions, and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement in the staffing operating model to enhance transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness (e.g., seamless handling of cross-CE staffing requests)
  • Preparing and presenting regular, transparent updates to leadership covering supply, demand, and utilization (both historical and forecast) in collaboration with the People Analytics team within TMU and our Finance teams
  • Representing CE staffing in global and regional forums and contributing to best-practice exchange across BCG as well as leveraging digital tools and GenAI to continuously improve how the team works

What You'll Bring

  • University degree, ideally with a focus on business management, human resources, psychology, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in HR, staffing, or a comparable role within a dynamic, service-oriented, or professional services environment
  • Proven experience managing complex staffing or workforce topics, including end-to-end process ownership and implementation responsibility
  • Strong stakeholder relationship skills at all levels of the organization; you are credible, responsive and able to navigate complex discussions and hold positions under pressure, including at senior leadership level
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including direct people management and/or functional leadership responsibility
  • Experience driving cross-functional projects and process improvements, ideally within a regional or multi-office setup
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; you frame complex topics clearly, drive to conclusions based on data and expertise, and bring people with you
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus

Who You'll Work With

You’ll report to the CE TM Senior Director and work closely with the CE Staffing MDP as your key senior stakeholder on strategic priorities and escalations. You will have direct reports in the G&A Staffing team and collaborate closely with the staffing teams in SUI and CEE. You’ll work closely with the broader CE TMU Leadership Team as well as our Consulting Team at all levels of the business.
