Electrical Design Engineer (Data Center projects)

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Mumbai, India. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing comprehensive electrical infrastructure for data center projects. • Design electrical distribution systems, power management infrastructure, and backup power solutions for data center facilities, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
• Develop single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and detailed design documentation using industry-standard CAD software and design tools
• Perform load calculations, power flow analysis, and thermal modeling to optimize electrical system performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical codes, standards (NFPA 70, IEC), and data center industry best practices
• Coordinate seamlessly with mechanical, civil, and IT teams to integrate electrical systems with cooling, structural, and operational requirements
• Evaluate and select electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, and distribution panels, based on project specifications and performance criteria
• Conduct comprehensive design reviews and provide technical recommendations to improve system reliability, resilience, and overall value
• Prepare technical specifications, bills of materials, and project documentation for procurement and construction phases
• Support commissioning activities, testing procedures, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure successful project delivery
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data center electrical design and energy efficiency
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that exceed expectations
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field
• 3+ years of professional experience in electrical design engineering, with a focus on data center or critical infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, or equivalent tools
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, UPS technology, and backup power generation systems
• Demonstrated expertise in performing load calculations, power flow analysis, and electrical system modeling
• Solid understanding of data center electrical standards, codes, and design guidelines
• Experience developing single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and comprehensive technical documentation
• Thorough understanding of cooling systems and thermal management principles in data center environments
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (NFPA 70, IEC) and their application in data center design
• Project management experience or familiarity with project coordination in engineering environments
• Knowledge of energy efficiency optimization and sustainable design practices (preferred)
• Experience with renewable energy integration or backup power systems (preferred)
• Familiarity with commissioning and testing procedures for electrical systems (preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure (preferred)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences
• Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in design and analysis work
