Your Impact
To support the business by performing the necessary planning, engineering, construction and project management duties required to deliver civil construction projects from their scoping stage through their execution, start up and turnover stages.
As Part of Our Team You Will
Construction Engineering & Design Support
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical specifications and scope of works for project tenders and contracts execution.
- Supervise construction activities on site to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform Infrastructure design works (including basic typical details of concrete, steel and timber) and ensure all Infrastructure deliverables meet project specifications and standards.
- Conduct basic take off of Infrastructure designs to support BOQs.
- Be willing to understudy the structural engineer to produce basic structural details to specifications and standard.
Project Planning and Reporting
- Handle the planning, design interpretation, and execution of civil engineering projects (buildings, roads, Earthworks, drainage systems etc.) related to surface mining operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required standards.
- Assist the Project Controls team by providing accurate progress inputs and precise site quantity reports to support the preparation of claims certificates.
- Support the preparation of claims documentation by supplying validated data and assisting in the review of supporting evidence.
- Maintain detailed records of daily progress, ensuring alignment with project schedules and contractual requirements.
- Contribute to the monitoring of project performance by highlighting discrepancies between planned and actual progress.
Construction Management and Support
- Develop cost estimates and perform economic evaluations to support project business cases including preparation of AFEs.
- Provide field engineering and construction management support by Inspecting project site and evaluate contractor work to detect design malfunctions and ensure conformance to design specifications.
- Develop proposal documentation for engineering and construction bidding purposes.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, such as Social Performance, Supply Chain, Environment, Mining operations, and maintenance, to ensure integrated project planning and execution. Liaise with external partners, including contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies, to facilitate project approvals and smooth execution, Monitor for identifying relevant risks, implementing mitigation measures, and continuously monitoring for risks.
Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist
Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
- B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Construction Management or related field.
- Must be a member of a recognized Engineering or Construction Professional body.
Additional Knowledge
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft office suite Software and or any other Construction Management software.
- Knowledge of Construction Management Standards and Technical specifications.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience with continuous construction supervision works.
- Must have experience in working on real estate housing/resettlement housing project in mining industry.
- Must have experience in working on foundation, concrete, steel and portal framing construction in the mining industry.
- Project engineering and construction experience.
- Must have handled multiple construction works at the same time.

- Advanced computer literacy skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and SAP.
