As part of this endeavour, we are looking to recruit a talented, enthusiastic and motivated Public Health Intelligence Analyst into our Public Health Team.
This Public Health Intelligence Analyst role will support the implementation the national gambling related harm prevention programme across the peninsula of Devon and Cornwall. This will be achieved by undertaking analysis and interpretation of complex, developing data sets and turning that data into accessible information to enhance public health intelligence and delivery of interventions to support the agenda.
The post holder will provide input and advice on understanding the needs of the population in relation to gambling harm, addressing health inequalities, determining priorities for action, assisting with a wider understanding of the characteristics of the local population and actively disseminating the findings to a wide audience.
We expect the successful candidate to be an advocate for the gambling harm prevention programme as an emerging and rapidly developing public health agenda.
Undertaking the role of Public Health Intelligence Analyst means you will be closely collaborating with a range of key stakeholders across the peninsula of Devon and Cornwall both internal and external to Torbay Council such as Devon County Council, Cornwall Council, Plymouth City Council, the Office for Health, Inequality and Disparity (OHID), the NHS, and the voluntary and community sectors.
Delivery will include
- Working alongside key partners representing treatment and the voluntary and community sector, and others as required for the growth and success of the programme.
- Maintaining knowledge of current and upcoming gambling related harm national developments. You will find the diversity of the role and workstream topic to be rewarding and will be joining a team that is supportive and passionate about what it does as well as being committed to professional development.
You will be part of a well-established team and will be working alongside other Specialists, Intelligence Analysts and Public Health Practitioners, with support and management from the Public Health Specialist for Gambling Harm Prevention. You will also form and important part of the Public Health Knowledge and Intelligence Team, working alongside a team with a similar role to yours, albeit covering other public health agendas.
