Job Description BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems is looking for a dynamic leader to fill our Artillery Contracts Director role. Join a dynamic Contracts team that supports the delivery of mission critical capabilities to the Department of War, specifically our portfolio of Artillery Systems. The Contracts organization is the trusted business partner managing customer relationships, negotiating deals, creating innovative solutions, and providing regulatory knowledge. The successful candidate shall be accountable for leading a team of Contracts professionals in the preparation, negotiation, and management of complex proposals and/or contract activities in accordance with company policies, legal regulations, and customer requirements with limited guidance or supervision from Contracts leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, mentor, and develop the Contracts organization.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, priorities, and performance expectations for contracts personnel.
- Build team capability through coaching, training, succession planning, and professional development.
- Manage the full life cycle of contract administration, from solicitation to closeout.
- Develop productive relationships with customer contracting officers, contract specialists, legal representatives, program offices, and other authorized customer personnel.
- Partner with program management to integrate contractual requirements into program execution.
- Participate in program reviews, risk reviews, proposal reviews, and executive business reviews.
- Ensure all company policies, processes, and internal controls are followed.
- Ensure contractual commitments are reviewed and approved by appropriately authorized personnel before execution. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
- Experience in Contracts Management
- Experience in Defense Contracting
- Experience in People Management
- Experience in Cross-functional Leadership
- Strong team player that enjoys working with program management and other functional disciplines in a supportive and complementary manner
- Ability to develop and provide guidance of a strategic nature regarding customers, growth, and overall performance of a business
- Ability to develop and lead high performing teams
- Ability to work independently and think critically with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- JD or MBA in Business or related field
- Professional Certification: CFCM or CPCM (NCMA) or CCM (IACCM)
- Experience in combat vehicle or artillery programs
- Experience in major defense article acquisition and production contracting
- Experience in complex contracts and proposal preparation and execution
- Experience in Cost Plus and Fixed Price contracting
- Expert knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations
- Strong critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $138267 - $235053
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
