Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM–3:30 PM
Setting: Onsite
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
Salary: $60,000–$70,000 annually

About the Opportunity

We are seeking two full-time Speech-Language Pathologists to join a collaborative special education school in Arlington Heights, IL for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians who are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs in a highly structured, student-centered environment. Caseloads and grade levels will be determined based on your experience and classroom assignment, with opportunities to work with students from Early Childhood through 8th grade.

Position Overview

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students with a variety of communication needs while working alongside a multidisciplinary team of educators and related service providers. You'll play an essential role in helping students develop the communication skills necessary for academic achievement, independence, and lifelong success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy and consultative services to students with diverse communication needs.
  • Conduct evaluations, write assessment reports, and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs.
  • Develop measurable communication goals and monitor student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and a multidisciplinary team to support student achievement.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions using multisensory instructional strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and district requirements.

This specialized program serves students from Early Childhood through 8th grade with a wide range of exceptional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Cognitive and multiple disabilities
  • Behavioral and emotional disabilities
  • Physical and health impairments
  • Speech and language disorders

Students receive individualized instruction in a nurturing, highly structured environment designed to promote academic achievement, communication, independence, and life skills.

Collaborative Work Environment

You'll join a dedicated multidisciplinary team that embraces a whole-child approach to education. Related service providers work together to create individualized supports and help every student reach their fullest potential. You'll collaborate with:

  • Speech-Language Pathologists
  • School Psychologists
  • School Social Workers
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Physical Therapists
  • Special Education Teachers and Support Staff

The school's curriculum integrates academic instruction with transition planning, vocational readiness, functional communication, and life skills to prepare students for success both in and beyond the classroom.

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement.
  • Active Illinois IDFPR Speech-Language Pathologist License.
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience working with students with autism or other complex learning needs is preferred but not required.
