MEET THE TEAM
The FP&A team owns the financial truth of the business: the monthly update to the CFO and leadership, the long-range plan, and the ad hoc analyses that drive real decisions. We care about accuracy, problem-solving from first principles, clarity, and trust in numbers.
The Product org is one of the most analytically complex domains in the business, sitting at the intersection of revenue, experimentation, unit economics, and strategic investment. This role leads that domain and owns the financial narrative upward to the CPO, COO, and CFO.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a senior ownership role. You'll be the primary Finance partner to Product: embedded in their planning rhythms, trusted by their senior leadership, and accountable for turning product decisions into financial conviction.
Day to day, you'll own the financial model for core product areas, translate experimentation results into company level revenue impact, and be the thought partner product leaders lean on for prioritization and resourcing calls.
Beyond that, you'll navigate real strategic ambiguity. Preply is investing in areas where the returns aren't proven yet, like non-language subjects and AI-assisted learning. Your job is to bring rigor to those bets: build the frameworks, define the metrics, and set the cadence that lets the company decide where to lean in and where to hold back.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Domain leadership Own Product Finance end to end and be the senior Finance voice in product planning forums.
Core product finance Own the financial model and forecast for core product areas, and stress-test ROI assumptions under different investment scenarios.
Product ROI measurement and experimentation Own how we measure product investment returns, translating experiment lift and cohort data into validated, annualized revenue impact.
Portfolio management and planning Maintain a financial view of the full product investment portfolio and lead the Product workstream in AOP and LRP.
Strategic product investments Build the financial thesis and models for high upside, high uncertainty bets like non-language subjects and AI-assisted learning, and define when to scale, hold, or pull back.
Business partnership and executive reporting Be product leadership's trusted Finance partner, and own the materials that bring CPO and CFO reviews clear, action-oriented narratives.
Analytical depth and AI Dig into how product changes move CAC, LTV, and retention, and use AI tools to move faster than a traditional FP&A build allows.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- 8+ years in product analytics, product finance, or a closely adjacent FP&A role.
- Experience at a high-growth B2C or marketplace business.
- Deep experience in product impact measurement: experiment analysis, lift quantification, cohort analysis, and translating product metrics into financial outcomes.
- Familiarity with experimentation methodologies and their limitations for financial planning purposes.
- Ability to build financial frameworks in ambiguous areas where data is limited and the business model is still developing.
- Strong financial modeling skills, with demonstrated ability to build models from scratch in ambiguous or early-stage contexts.
- Ability to build investment frameworks and achieve alignment with senior business partners.
- Demonstrated success using AI tools to drive insights and efficiencies.
- Exceptional executive-level communicator.
- Comfortable in Looker or similar reporting tools; advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
