The Tyvek® business within DuPont™ Healthcare & Water Technologies is a global leader in advanced materials and solutions serving healthcare packaging, personal protective equipment, and consumer and industrial applications. Through innovation, sustainability, and materials science expertise, Tyvek® helps protect workers, enable sterile medical packaging, and support countless critical applications worldwide.
Our Tyvek® Technical Team develops innovative products, advances manufacturing capabilities, and explores new technology platforms to meet evolving market needs. As an R&D Lab Technologist, you will play a key role in supporting product and process development through laboratory testing, data analysis, and collaboration with a global network of technical professionals.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, highly collaborative team that applies expertise in materials science, polymer science, chemistry, physics, and engineering to develop next-generation nonwoven membrane solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute laboratory experiments in accordance with test methods, operating procedures, and research plans while applying sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Analyze, document, and communicate experimental results to project teams; prepare technical reports and presentations as needed.
- Prepare, store, track, and ship samples for internal and external testing.
- Manage chemical and sample inventories, ensuring proper handling, storage, and compliance with safety requirements.
- Coordinate external laboratory testing, including sample shipment, DOT compliance, and import/export documentation.
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Support the commissioning and qualification of new laboratory equipment under the guidance of senior researchers.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory safety documentation.
- Partner with R&D, Applications Development, Manufacturing Technology, and Operations teams to support scale-up trials and Management of Change activities.
- Train laboratory personnel on testing procedures, equipment operation, and maintenance practices.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to align testing methodologies, coordinate sample logistics, and deliver high-quality technical results.
- Travel up to 10% as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
- 1–3 years of professional experience, preferably in a laboratory, manufacturing, or technical environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within diverse and cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of scientific and engineering principles and their application to laboratory testing.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work full-time on-site.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical activities such as bending, climbing stairs and ladders, and twisting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools such as Minitab or JMP.
- Familiarity with LIMS, SAP, or similar laboratory and business systems.
- Knowledge of laboratory method development, validation, and statistical analysis techniques.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: physical property testing (e.g., tensile, abrasion), DSC, DM), FTIR, Optical Microscopy, Elemental Analysis, ICP, GC-FID, GC-MS, HPLC
- Knowledge of nonwoven manufacturing processes and product performance is a plus.

The Pay range for this role is $58,800.00 - $92,400.00 Annual
How Base Pay is Determined: DuPont has job leveling frameworks that help organize roles based on progressive levels of responsibility, proficiency and qualifications. Each role has an associated pay range (or an established pay rate for some roles) based on the competitive market in each country where we operate. Each individual’s pay is based on a variety of factors, including their role and the associated pay range for that role, their geographic location (i.e., country, state, metropolitan area), as well as their skills, experience, education and certifications, and performance.
