DuPont’s Newark, DE, site has an exciting opportunity for a Machine Shop Operator .
The Machine Shop Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a wide range of machine tools, both CNC and manual grinders and lathes. The Machine Shop operator will work from and read prints as well as setting and checking work to various quality control gauges while maintaining safe work practices at all times.
This position will be responsible for, but not limited to
Sets up and operates manual and CNC equipment
Uses precision gauges
Manages multiple projects at one time
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speeds, feed and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control systems
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of- tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
Leads projects to improve productivity within the shop
Contributes to DuPont Production Systems implementation within the shop
Trains teammates
Leads problem solving sessions with a team to minimize repeat errors.

In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:
High School Diploma or GED
Licensed Machinist with 2-3 years of experience or 5+ years of machine shop experience
Proficient in setup and operation of CNC lathes and mills with Fanuc style controllers.
Proficient in shop math, including geometry and conversions
Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and understand tolerance
Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills, including equipment
Dependability and willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends
Due to Federal Government Export Control and ITAR requirements, candidates for this position must be either a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
Willing and able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, steel toes and hearing protection
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States; Visa sponsorship/support or relocation assistance are not available for this position.
