JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Cardiothoracic Surgery NP/PA • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Flagstaff, AZ • Service Setting: Acute Care Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: 08/10/2026 – 13 Weeks • Clinical Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM • On-Call Shift Schedule: - Weeknight: 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM - 24-Hour Weekend Call • Call Type: Beeper COVERAGE DATES • Orientation: August 10 and/or August 30 (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) • August 11–13: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM + Weeknight Call • September 1–4: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM + Weeknight Call • September 5–7: 24-Hour Call (September 7 Holiday) • September 8: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM + Weeknight Call PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults and Geriatrics • Patient Volume/Census: 10–15 CVICU/Step-Down Patients Daily - 1–2 Surgeries • Admissions: As Clinically Indicated • Rounding: Included • Phone Consults: Yes • Case Mix: Cardiothoracic Surgery FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 199 Hospital Beds • Trauma Level: Adult Level I–IV • EMR System: Cerner • Office Equipment Available: Standard Cardiothoracic Surgery Resources • Specialty Backup Available: Cardiothoracic Surgeon • Support Staff Available: Cardiothoracic Surgery Teame PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 30 Days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Endoscopic Vein Harvest (EVH) • Temporary Pacemaker Removal • Chest Tube Removal • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Removal • Arterial Line Placement JOB REQUIREMENTS • Active Arizona PA License or Arizona APRN License • NCCPA (PA) or ANCC/AANP (NP) • Active DEA • ACLS and BLS (AHA) • Minimum 3 Years of Recent CT Surgery Experience with EVH • PA - Graduate of Accredited PA Program and NCCPA Certified • NP - Graduate of Acute Care NP Program, RN/NP First Assistant Program, and Arizona APRN License DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage cardiothoracic surgery patients in the CVICU and step-down unit • Assist with cardiothoracic surgical procedures • Perform EVH and approved bedside procedures • Provide weekday and weekend call coverage • Document patient care in Cerner and collaborate with the cardiothoracic surgery team
