Job description

Working within Perioperative Services at Epworth Freemasons’ Jolimont Road site, specialising in IVF procedures, this is a permanent full-time or part-time opportunity for a Floor Coordinator.

The Role:

In this role within Epworth Freemasons Perioperative Services, you will work in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for the daily coordination of the theatre complex in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Managers. You will oversee the effective coordination of staff, patients, and medical practitioners to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Supported by a dedicated leadership team, including the Perioperative Services Manager, you will be set up to succeed in a well-supported and collaborative environment.

You will need to be able to motive a team through your positive, calm leadership style and exhibit excellent coordination skills.   • Having a strong leadership and clinical presence, delivering an exceptional patient experience within the department
  • Ensuring patient flow is managed whilst providing high standards of patient care
  • Managing clinical risk and implementing process improvements to improve patient outcomes
  • Working in collaboration with the key stakeholders and senior leadership teams to ensure patient care is integrated, safe, supportive and of high quality
  • Being highly accountable, respectful, supportive and engaging

To be successful in this role…

You are either currently working in an ANUM or Theatre Floor Coordinator role, or you are ready to step confidently into this next stage of your career. You are a strong and effective communicator with a flexible, proactive approach, and you demonstrate genuine compassion and empathy when supporting patients and their families.

You are motivated to progress your career, develop your leadership capability, and take on greater responsibility within a perioperative setting. You are also open to mentoring and actively seek opportunities to engage in internal leadership programs that will support your professional growth and success.

You will have:

  • A strong clinical background in theatre nursing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate staff to deliver their best
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Current nursing registration with AHPRA 
  • Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (desirable)

Epworth Freemasons consists of three sites.  The Main Hospital is on Albert Street East Melbourne has a total of 12 operating theatres. The Victoria Parade site is just across the road and consists of an additional 6 theatres including our Maternity wards and Jolimont Road site consists of 2 theatres specialising in IVF procedures.

The annual salary range for full time Floor Coordinator Registered Nurses – AUD $128,170 - $138,404 + super + entitlements, depending on registration type, year level, and position/experience (prorated for part-time).
