LGV Driver
Job description
- Report to the Transport Office at the start of shift for briefing
- Comply with and follow all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety requirements, hygiene standards, and driver handbook guidelines.
- Ensure all paperwork and pre-checks are completed accurately and in full.
- Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedure
- Ensure defects are reported promptly and that all defect reports are completed accurately and in full when required.
- Always comply with all tachograph rules and regulations and promptly report any infringements.
- Effectively manage working time in compliance with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph regulations.
- Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks and recording
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of Transport Department operations.
- Always maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearance.
- Make deliveries to customers’ premises, always acting in a professional manner
- Observe and adhere to site procedures at each delivery & collection point
- Report any issues with delivery or collection arrival times, delays, or load discrepancies immediately.
- Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery
- Ensure regular communication with the Transport Office / Customer Services
- Any other duties as reasonably required
- Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the business
- Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence and valid DCPC
- Minimum 6 months experience driving LGV
- Full UK Driving License
- Excellent attention to detail
